Pick a Card, Any Card

Ok, so I was innocently running errands on cute little Washington Street and I popped into this store – it smelled good and had cute stuff in the windows (zip code pillows, journals, candles … you get the picture) – and when I got inside there was a chalkboard inside that said something about reiki or fortune telling and as much as I am dying to indulge in either of those I didn’t have time.  BUT, there was a table with these cards and a small sign that instructed shoppers to “Pick a Card, Any Card.” So I carefully selected a card … not from the top or the bottom or exactly in the middle … of course the idea is that the card you pick is ordained by the universe and it will be the card that is most befitting for you.  That said, my card said, “I may not have always made the right choices, but I did my best. I have so much love to give and everyone around me can feel it. I am given a clean slate every single day to be the best version of me that I can be. I am forgiven. I am love.” Full stop. I think that the universe sends us messages all of the time but we often just don’t pay attention. I have often been guilty of beating myself up over decisions or choices I have made but I would give others the grace that I would never give myself. I also recently saw a sign that said, “Love yourself the way you love others.” I laughed and said out loud, “Duly noted.” I needed to absorb these messages and actually practice them. I am learning to be as good to myself as I am to others. What is the lesson you need to learn and embrace? Pay attention, your messages are messaging.
