Have you ever written someone a love note? Better yet, have you written someone a love note anonymously? I have never written an anonymous note but I have definitely written some love notes over the years. I still like to send notes because I want the people I care about to know that they are cared about. I think most of my love notes now are cards that I send to friends or family from time to time. This crossed my mind because I think it is so important to show people that you are thinking about them.
Texts are ok. Emails are nice but I think actual notes and cards are more sincere. Of course I am a bit biased because I am a writer so I have an appreciation for paper.
That said, at some point in middle school someone anonymously wrote me the note featured with this blog post. I have kept this note in my wallet all of these years because it really touched my heart and it reminds me of who I used to be when I was younger. It reminds me that I really like who I was and who I strive to continue to be. I want to always put a smile on others’ faces. And while I have received a few romantic love notes that I adore, I really love this love note because it celebrates the impact I had on someone as a friend. There is a quote by Maya Angelou where she says that people will never remember what you said or what you did but they will never forget how you made them feel. Because of this note, I try to send friends of mine cards from time to time, just to let them know that I value them and that I think they are great. We all need it, especially these days. When is the last time you sent a love note to someone?
