Another New Year …

Is it me or does it feel like we just celebrated bringing in 2023? Maybe it’s just me because 2023 was filled with a lot. The world is still off its axis. It’s difficult not to be affected by all of the disappointing and disturbing things happening in our world.  The politics, violence, racism, misogyny, injustice and more are hard to ignore. But what I hope we can do, is take some time in 2024 to love on ourselves and to take care of ourselves.

It’s so important at this time to surround ourselves with the people that bring out the best in us and support us – the people that make us feel safe. It is also important that we prioritize our health, making sure that we enjoy healthy diets and exercise. Our bodies are our temples and we should treat them as such. As much as most of us don’t enjoy working out, there is nothing like that feeling we all get when we finish a good workout. The induced adrenaline and the beautiful flush to our skin – admit it, it feels good. Soon enough you will start to see the results (others always seem to notice before we do).

Think about incorporating meditation into your daily routine.  Ten minutes is all it takes and I promise you will benefit from clearing your mind after a busy day. Take yourself out to the movies or dinner. Start to treat yourself the way you treat those that you love. As women, we tend to treat everyone else better than we treat ourselves. There is nothing wrong with putting yourself on a pedestal. The better we treat ourselves, the more we will require from others. Never forget that you are a prize.

Admittedly, lots of thoughts are rushing through my head this new year. While I welcome it but I am in a bit of shock at how quickly it rolled around. I have been so crazy busy since the summer that I completely neglected one of my most favorite things in the world – this blog. But I’m back! Refreshed and renewed and ready to fill this space with the best content that I can think of. That said, I want to make sure that I am doing my best to be present and making every effort to live and love in the moment … because before you know it, we’ll be celebrating 2025. It’s true what they say that time waits for no one. If you are like me, you don’t want to miss a thing. So, celebrate you – now.
